Peter Pan
Barrie had the statue erected in secret overnight on 30 April 1912, so children arriving on May Day morning would think it had appeared by magic — on the very spot where Peter lands in 'The Little White Bird'. Fairies, mice and rabbits climb the tree-stump base, polished bright by a century of small hands.
